Following the wild success of Strata Paper, I was eager to publish another Vine using the "Strata Stencil" technique.

Suddenly, the idea of using a book in combination of the stencils struck me and thus the outline for the Sherlock Holmes Vines was born.

My goal was to make the viewer feel like they're jumping right into the book.

To make this possible, all of the 100+ pages were again cut by hand using an Xacto knife. To add another level of authenticity, a sequence of the original Sherlock Holmes story was printed onto all sheets of paper.
